Alex McFarland Talks With Judge Roy Moore, Colson and Zacharias as Summertime Guests on Sound Rzn Radio Show


CHARLOTTE, N.C. Sound Rzn, a nationally-syndicated Christian radio program hosted by Southern Evangelical Seminary President Alex McFarland, will welcome several interesting and well-known guests this summer on the 4 to 5 p.m. EDT weekday show heard on more than 140 stations around the country.

On June 18, McFarland will talk with Dr. Randy Guliuzza from the Institute for Creation Research in Dallas, Texas. Guliuzzas specialties include the human body, apologetics and worldview, and he is a captivating speaker who presents well-documented and often humorous scientific and biblical talks to audiences of all ages.

Guliuzza has represented ICR in several scientific debates at secular universities and in other forums. He has a B.S. in engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, a B.A. in theology from Moody Bible Institute, an M.D. from the University of Minnesota and a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. Guliuzza served nine years in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps and is a registered Professional Engineer. In 2008, he retired as Lt. Col. from the U.S. Air Force, where he served as Flight Surgeon and Chief of Aerospace Medicine. He is the author of the recently released book Made in His Image: Examining the Complexities of the Human Body.

Then on June 21, Robert Velarde, author of The Wisdom of Pixar and a Southern Evangelical Seminary alumnus, will join McFarland in the Sound Rzn studio. Velarde is a writer and editor for Sonlight Curriculum. He is the author of The Heart of Narnia, Inside the Screwtape Letters, The Power of Family Prayer, The Lion, the Witch and the Bible, and Examining Alternative Medicine.  A former editor for Focus on the Family, he received his M.A. in Religion from Southern Evangelical Seminary.

Upcoming guests include the Hon. Roy Moore, former chief justice and President of the Foundation for Moral Law in Montgomery, Ala., on July 1; Chuck Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, on July 2; and Ravi Zacharias, Indian-born, Canadian-American evangelical Christian apologist, evangelist and author, on July 22.

Dr. Alex McFarland has been in full-time ministry since 1989 and is currently the president of Southern Evangelical Seminary in North Carolina.
